According to a new study from the Capgemini Research Institute , companies are increasing investments in artificial intelligence systems to defend against next-generation cyberattacks. Two-thirds of companies recognize that they would be unable to respond to critical threats without the support of AI. With the increase in the number of devices, networks, and user interfaces due to advances in cloud, IoT, 5G, and conversational interface technologies, companies are urgently faced with the need to continuously enhance and improve their cybersecurity.
From the study entitled “ Reinventing Cybersecurity with Artificial Intelligence: the new frontier in digital security ”, how AI is now a necessary enabler for cybersecurity
More than half of respondents say their company's cybersecurity analysts feel pressured by the vast amount of data they must monitor to detect and prevent cyberattacks. Furthermore, there has been a significant increase in the types of cyberattacks that require immediate intervention or buy bulk sms service that cyber analysts are unable to resolve quickly enough, such as hacker attacks targeting time-sensitive applications and automated , machine-speed attacks that evolve so quickly that traditional response systems cannot neutralize them.
Faced with these new threats, a clear majority of companies surveyed believe they are unable to respond to cyberattacks without the use of AI, while more than half say they need AI to identify the most critical threats . One in five executives said their company suffered a cybersecurity breach in 2018, most of which cost the company more than $50 million.
